Melbourne as it looked when Governor Bourke officially declared it a town. Both Bourke and King got streets named after them and Captain Hobson of HMS Rattlesnake got Hobson’s Bay. The Rattlesnake missed out altogether in the naming game, probably because it sounds too American.
